    Workers strike at roofing materials plant

    About 90 workers at a roofing materials manufacturing plant in Norwood went on strike last night in a dispute with company owners over wages and benefits. The strike closed down the CertainTeed plant. A company statement said, “We are hopeful for a speedy resolution.’’ Sean O’Brien, president of Teamsters Local 25, which represents the workers, said, “The company took a hard line [in negotiations] and gave us no other alternative’’ to a strike.
