Land Air Express drivers join Teamsters Local 375

Truck drivers at Land Air Express of New England’s Town of Tonawanda terminal have approved joining Teamsters Local 375.

A majority of the 33 drivers voted in favor of representation, said Kevin Drysdale, secretary/treasurer and business agent with Local 375.A vote total was not disclosed.

The Vermont-based company has 14 terminals in the Northeast, including one at 4425 River Road, near the South Grand Island Bridge.

The drivers cited issues in areas such as their health benefits and work rules in approaching Local 375 about representation, Drysdale said. The union hopes to start negotiating a contract soon, he said.
